About Adam Riley
Riley Counselling and Therapy
I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and Adult Education. I welcome individuals with diverse life experiences and backgrounds. Counselling sessions will be conducted in a respectful way with an emphasis on creating a safe, caring and non-judgemental space. I encourage clients to develop strong and lasting coping mechanisms to deal more effectively with challenging issues. I am trained in evidence-based practices and follow best professional practices. I employ a variety of therapeutic techniques including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Meditation, and Relational and Emotion Focussed Therapy (EFT). I am also trained in Trauma-Informed Care and Critical Consciousness. Working with these various treatment modalities, I will aim to support you whether you are experiencing anxiety and/or depression or undergoing significant life changes, such as the end of a relationship. I offer individual therapy and couples counselling. Together we can discuss what treatment modality might work for best for you. I generally use a two-fold approach that works on both short and long- term goals. With individually tailored sessions, I aim to help you quickly get on your feet by providing immediate tools/strategies, while at the same time working on deeper therapeutic issues where necessary. In this way, you can live well in your daily life while at the same time exploring and learning new skills to carry you forward.
